A Carefree Day

Hello! How is everyone's summer going? It's very humid here and there are tons of rainy days. But the other day the weather was pretty nice so I went on a small excursion to a nearby park. For the longest time I've been doing nothing but work so I honestly had such a good time. I decided that I wouldn't do anything unpleasant (especially homework), and off I went. After arriving at the park I sat down in a flower patch and talked with one of my old friends on the phone for about an hour. I was the only one in the park so it was great! I could only hear the sound of the river and the bugs singing.

After that I went to a local florist and bought a big, yellow sunflower.

^ω^ It was a simple day, but I was doing the things I love so it was refreshing, too. If you guys also work a lot, please make sure that you find time to do fun or interesting things as well. I think it's very important.

It's been awhile!

Hey everyone! It’s been awhile, so of course I have a lot of news.

First of all, spring semester just ended but I'm going to take 3 summer classes this year. They’re all online, though, so I think they’ll be pretty simple and convenient.

Next, I just moved into my FIRST APARTMENT! I’m so excited and I still can’t believe I’m here. I’ve wanted to have my own place for about 4 years, so this is like a dream come true. It’s an old, one-bedroom apartment located downtown. You can see mossy trees from the windows and there are some parks and shops nearby, too. I really love it! But what surprises me is how noisy the apartment is. There is a major road right outside the building, so you hear cars going by 24/7. The other places I’ve lived at before were all in very quiet neighborhoods, so I’m still getting used to the noise level here. But that’s city life for you! ^^ I’ve also brought my two kitties, Baby and Vincent, to live with me. While I was in the dorm they were living at my brother’s house, so I’m happy to have them with me again!

My last piece of news is that I’ve finally found a job! Last week, I was hired at a Thai ice cream shop. If you’ve never heard of Thai ice cream, I suggest you YouTube it right now. It’s really cool! The shop also serves some other Asian sweets and drinks. They even sell Ramune, which makes me happy. ^^ Anyways, making the ice cream and other sweets is very fun, but very challenging as well. I’m going to give it my all!

Well, that’s about it. It probably doesn’t sound like a lot, but for some reason I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. New classes, new apartment, new job. I guess I’ve just finally become an adult! I think I’ll get used to everything little by little.

Anyways, I’ll talk to you guys again soon!

Pray for Kumamoto

In April 2016, a series of large earthquakes hit Kumamoto prefecture in Japan. Many people lost their lives and many more were injured. Lots of buildings, roads, cultural landmarks, and landscapes were destroyed. The residents of Kumamoto are still trying to get back on their feet after this disaster.

Awhile ago, someone I met online decided to make this video to support and encourage the survivors of the Kumamoto earthquakes and their families. I was honored to be apart of the project. Please continue to pray for Kumamoto and send love to anyone you know who was affected by the earthquake. If you'd like, please share this video with other people, too.
